Learn how to read and follow a commercial sewing pattern to sew a simple woven top. You will develop the skills to select the correct size, pattern, and fabric to begin creating the wardrobe of your dreams.
Students Will Learn How To:
Take measurements and use a pattern size chart, follow pattern instructions, select apparel fabric and layout pattern pieces on grain, gather and set in sleeves, sew darts, sew in facings, finish seams, and sew hems.
Students should know how to thread a sewing machine and sew straight seams.
You only need to bring a measuring tape and something to take notes for the first class. We will discuss how to take measurements, determine the correct pattern size, and select fabric for the second session.
