MADISON – Don’t Toss It – Learn Visible and Nearly Invisible Mending Jul 29 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

$30.00

Teacher:

Becky May

This class will introduce two distinct approaches to garment repair: visible mending, where stitches and patches become part of the design, and nearly invisible mending, where careful techniques restore fabric with minimal visual trace.

Through examples and demonstrations, we’ll look at common types of wear—holes, thinning fabric, seam stress—and discuss a range of strategies for addressing them. You’ll learn how to evaluate a damaged garment and choose an appropriate method based on fabric type, location, and desired aesthetic outcome.

Participants are invited (but not required) to bring a garment to share during discussion. While this is not a hands-on repair class, it’s an opportunity to think through possible mending approaches and gain clarity before beginning your own projects at home.

Perfect for beginners, curious makers, and anyone interested in extending the life of their clothing through informed, intentional care.
