Basic Sewing Supplies (Pins, needles, scissors, rotary cutter, thread, seam ripper, rulers) Sewing Machine in good working order.  Always a good idea to clean, oil, put a new needle in before class.  Bring the manual for the machine if you are not familiar with all aspects of the machine or if the techniques in class are new to you.

A 6 1/2″ square ruler will be very handy for squaring up Half Square Triangles. You may also use a larger square ruler. A Bloc-Loc ruler works great for Half Square Triangle trimming but is not required.

Fabric Requirements:

(1) Layer Cake OR (32) 10″ assorted squares (Bill used 16 assorted Red and 16 assorted Blue to make the sample)

Background fabric: Approx 2 yards total, May use scrappy whites or off whites, some yardage needed for border strips or piece them

Binding: 5/8 yard

Backing: 4 yards

Cutting Instructions:

Assorted color squares (Bill used 16 red and 16 blue): For each 10″ square, cut a 3″ strip off any side, then cut a 3″ strip off the adjacent side so you have a 7″ square remaining.  You’ll need 32 total. Cut these 7″ squares on the diagonal.

Background (white/off-white/neutrals): Cut the following:

(16)  7″ squares (then cut on the diagonal)  AND  (16) 6 1/2″ square

(5) 3″ x width of fabric for inner border

The classroom has large cutting mats, irons and ironing boards if you do not want to bring your own.  For an all day class you might want to pack a lunch (Aldi and Le Gong restaurant are in our strip mall as an alternative)

Class Policies

• Classes require a minimum of 4 students. If the minimum is not reached 2 weeks before class, it will be cancelled and students will receive a full refund.
• If you have registered for a class and must cancel, please contact us ASAP. You must cancel at least two (2) weeks in advance to receive a refund or credit. No credit for no-shows.
• In deference to those with sensitivities, we ask that you refrain from wearing perfume or other scented products
• We would appreciate it if you purchase your supplies at Sew Much More. We will be happy to assist you in gathering all the necessary materials – and give you a 15% discount!
