Fabric

• Exterior Fabric (45” wide)- ¾ yd
• Lining 1 yd
• Interfacing – 20” wide/ 36” wide- 1½ yds/ 1¼ yds
• Interlining (Fusible Fleece or canvas)- ¾ yd

-If you’re adding the snap fastener closure to the front – you need a few scraps of heavyweight fusible interfacing to re-enforce – I use Decovil light, but you can use any type you prefer.

-If you opt to add ‘padding’ to the shoulder strap, you need 1 x piece of fusible foam approx. 12” x 3”

Interfacing and interlining will depend on what fabrics you choose for your exterior and interior. I used waxed canvas for the exterior and Splash for the lining. I omitted all interfacing, but did use interlining. If was using vinyl or a heavier canvas for the exterior, I would also omit the interlining.

Other

• Bias Binding tape ¾” wide- 2½ yds (or fabric to make your own)
• Zipper tape #5 – 1yd , plus 3 zipper pulls

–you can use 3 individual zippers if you prefer– 1 x 6”, 1 x 7” and 1 x 13” metal or nylon zippers

• Webbing tape (1½” wide)- 1 yd ( medium adult size) – increase quantity for Larger sizes

Hardware for Strap

• 1 x 1½” swivel clip
• 1 x 1½” metal slider
• 2 x 1” D rings

Hardware for Bag Front

• 1 x 1¼” D ring for hanging your bag.

Front Slip Pocket Closure

Option A:   

• 1 x ½” Snap fastener with correct setting tools OR

Option B:    

• 1 x 1½” swivel clip
• 1 x 1¼” D ring

Optional finishing touch-           2 x 6-8mm rivets and correct setting tools

NOTIONS AND EQUIPMENT                       

• Sewing Machine, and zipper foot attachment
• Coordinating polyester thread
• Pins and wonder clips – clips are best when working with multiple layers of fabric
• Water soluble fabric marker or chalk pen
• Sharp fabric scissors – plus some small sharp scissors for clipping corners etc.
• Ruler/measuring tape
• 90/14 or 110/18 (jeans/denim) needle for your sewing machine
• Double-sided sticky tape ¼” or 1/8”
• Stiletto – useful for sewing around curves

The classroom has large cutting mats, irons and ironing boards if you do not want to bring your own.  For an all day class you might want to pack a lunch (Aldi and Le Gong restaurant are in our strip mall as an alternative)

• Classes require a minimum of 4 students. If the minimum is not reached 2 weeks before class, it will be cancelled and students will receive a full refund.
• If you have registered for a class and must cancel, please contact us ASAP. You must cancel at least two (2) weeks in advance to receive a refund or credit. No credit for no-shows.
• In deference to those with sensitivities, we ask that you refrain from wearing perfume or other scented products
