Learn the relaxing art of English Paper Piecing (EPP) in this hands-on hand sewing class. English Paper Piecing is a traditional technique where fabric is wrapped around paper templates (often hexagons) and hand-stitched together to create beautiful patchwork designs. In this workshop, you’ll make a lovely handmade hexagon pincushion, perfect for your sewing room or as a gift.

This class is designed for:
Beginners who want to learn hand sewing and quilting basics.
Intermediate sewists and quilters interested in traditional EPP patchwork.
Crafters who enjoy slow stitching, portable sewing projects, or mindful handwork.
No sewing machine is required — just simple tools and your hands!

You’ll learn the full process of English Paper Piecing, including:
How to use paper hexagon templates to baste fabric (by glue or thread).
How to sew precise seams using the whipstitch hand sewing method.
How to assemble, stuff, and close a pincushion using simple finishing techniques.
By the end of class, you’ll have a finished, handmade pincushion made from eight 1″ hexagons — plus the skills to start your next EPP project with confidence. You’ll leave knowing how to make fabric hexagons, join them neatly, and create a small pincushion entirely by hand.

English Paper Piecing is a slow stitching technique that combines precision, creativity, and relaxation. It’s easy to learn, completely portable, and deeply satisfying. This class is perfect for anyone who loves quilting, sewing, or handcrafts, and wants to experience the joy of creating something both beautiful and functional.
